REASON FOR ESTABLISHMENT :

	to provide legal advice and to offer other support services relating to legal matters to the University Management and other cost centres within University so as to ensure compliance with legal requirements and thus reducing exposure to legal risk;
	to protect University’s legal interest in any transaction entered by University;
	to serve as a resources for informed decision-making and creative problem-solving to facilitate the University’s of its non profit missions of teaching, research, and service;
	to coordinate the provision of all legal services for the University, whether through this division or outside law firms, to ensure efficiency, containment of costs, and reliability of service;
	to educate University personnel about legal requirement and risks to prevent or reduce liability and legal disputes;
